You don't need to have a mother or a memory any more, all the advice and info you need is there in front of you. Which is really distracting when you're trying to work.

But anyway, yes, Marvin Gaye's Abraham Martin And John is superb, luscious yet still somehow understated and glidey. Here it is.merrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10959849087751101034noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11751516.post-6521295038849143362010-07-08T17:17:48.877+01:002010-07-08T17:17:48.877+01:00I was trying to tell my man (who fancies himself a...I was trying to tell my man (who fancies himself a blues artist and enthusiast--I don't concur with artist part) about the "soul version" of Sugar Sugar, but I couldn't for the life of me remember the artist's--Wilson Pickett--name. Which is how I happened upon your blog. One of the few things I love about the internet is the ability to get a lot of great information and interesting perspective about, literally, a whole world of things! I'd never heard of Cole Cooke and Redding. As much as I love Wilson Pickett ("Don't let...the green grass fool YA!..."), I didn't like the AMJ remake (why mess with perfection anyway). But it's interesting to know it exists. On the other hand, I'd love to hear Marvin Gaye's take on the original--bet it's sublime.

Great blog.AKAbloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13097387591919307084noreply@blogger.com
